County shows & country fairs in the UK are well worth a visit. From Bakewell to Surrey and Bucks to Dorset, county shows are an ecelectic mix of top class livestock, exciting horse & dog shows and traditional arts & crafts.

The Ashbourne Show	18th August 2012	Osmaston Polo Ground Nr Ashbourne Derbys DE6 1LW	-	Ashbourne show is a traditional country and agricultural show with something for all ages. Shires, Cattle, Sheep, Goats and Horses; Pet and Dog show; Handicraft and horticulture; and lots of trade, craft and food stands.
The Bakewell Show	1st & 2nd August 2012	The Showground, Bakewell, Derbyshire, DE45 1AQ	-	The Bakewell Show 2012 is one of the oldest agricultural shows in the UK with nearly 200 years of history. The Show has evolved from a purely agricultural display to the diverse event it is today with something for everybody! Plus, entrance if free for all accompanied kids (under 16).
The Royal Bath & West Show	May 30th to June 2nd 2012	The Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset BA4 6QN	-	The Royal Bath & West Show offers the chance to see the country's finest livestock including cattle, pigs, goats, sheep and alpacas.
The Bedfordshire County Show	July 14th to 15th 2012	Old Warden Park, Nr.Biggleswade, Bedfordshire SG18 9EX	-	The Bedfordshire Country Show caters for the whole family, from exciting main arena acts, field sports area, craft fair, dog show, animals, trade stands, food court, fair, have a go opportunities and more. A real family day out.
The Royal County of Berkshire Show	September 15th to 16th 2012	Newbury Showground, Priors Court, Hermitage, Thatcham, Berks, RG18 9QZ	-	The Royal County of Berkshire Show is one of England’s great traditional County Shows. It has taken place for over 100 years and is a terrific celebration of English Country Life. As well as showing classes, there is National show jumping in the main arena and The BSJA International Stairway Competition, where you can keep track of Britain’s stars of the future.The Show is home to over 600 shops, selling everything you could possibly need from countrywear fashion to homeware, furniture, plants, art, jewellery and cars. There’s also a fantastic food fare showcasing the region’s finest food, plus a Cookery Theatre where top local chefs give live cookery demonstrations. There are hundreds of Livestock classes where you can see different types of cows, pigs, camelids and many more. Other areas to visit include the Countryside Area, where you can get up close and personal with wild boar, snakes and ferrets. Blackwater Country Show	June 24th 2012	Rook Hall, Chigborough Road, Heybridge, Essex CM9 4RB	-	A traditional country show and wonderful family day out that brings you a variety of country pursuits and interests on the lake and around the 30 acre showground. Attractions include heavy horses in harness, farm animals, a fun dog show & falconry team. The Newfoundland Dog Rescue team will be carrying out rescue demonstrations on the lake and you can meet the Anglo Saxon warriors encamped in their living Village. Try archery and clay-shooting in the field sports area or stroll the grounds and visit the many stands of quality crafts, trade and local produce. Children can drive small Landrovers around a circuit, have fun on the bouncy castle or try and reach the top of the climbing wall amongst the many other activities for all the family!.
Brocklesby Fair	24th June 2012	Brocklesby Park, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire DN41 8PN	-	The Brocklesby Country Fair is one of the largest ‘One day’ Country Fairs in the UK and hosts a full day’s programme in the Main Ring with ‘The Imps Motorcycle Display Team’ this year. Countryside activities include ‘have a go’ archery, clay shooting and fly casting. There are 4x4 passenger rides, Gun Dog trials, Terrier Racing, Vintage Vehicles, Trade Stands, Crafts, Fairground Rides, Fun Dog Show, Hot Air Balloons and much more… Adults:£11, Seniors:£9, Children (14years and under): Free.
Bucks County Show	30th August 2012	Weedon Park, Nr Aylesbury.	-	The Bucks County Show highlights include the Metropolitan Mounted Police Activity Ride & the Band of the Royal Corps of Signals, plus The Sheep Show, Vintage Tractors, and the Home & Garden Marquee.
Cambridgeshire County Show	10th June 2012	Wimpole Home Farm, Wimpole, Arrington, near Royston, SG8 0BW	-	The Cambridgeshire County Show is a very traditional show organised by local Young Farmers and their supporters, with its roots firmly in agriculture and the rural community. Highlights include traditional crafts, livestock, food hall, rural crafts and displays, vintage tractors, fairground, children's corner and ring events.
Cheshire County Show	19th to 20th June 2012	Clay House Farm, Flittogate Lane, Tabley, Knutsford, Cheshire. WA16 0HJ	-	The Cheshire County Show brings together the many interesting and fascinating aspects of farming and rural life in Cheshire. From live demonstrations of milking cows and feeding calves to butchery demonstrations and ice-cream making, right through to the environmental matters that are considered in food production, the Agricultural Centre is a must see.
Royal Cornwall Show	7th to 9th June 2012	The Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge, Cornwall PL27 7JE	-	Now in its 219th year, The Royal Cornwall Show is the county’s biggest annual event and is brim-full of exhibits and activities offering entertainment, competitions, information, shopping and all that’s best in food and farming. This year's highlights include the RAF Falcons, quad bike stunts, Big Bands, polo, arts & crafts, and much more.
The Cotswold Show & Country Fair	30th June to 1st July 2012	Cirencester Park, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 2BU	-	The Cotswold Show & Country Fair combines town and country pursuits to create a glorious medley of fun activities and displays. From the spectacular White Helmets Motorcycle Display Team and the dynamic Royal Logistic Corps’ Sky-Diving, to the Shetland Pony Grand National, the national gundog weekend, horse whispering, craft stalls, and traditional children’s entertainment, it’s a great day out for all ages.
Derbyshire County Show	24th June 2012	Elvaston, near Derby, DE72 3EP	-	The Derbyshire County Show offers entertainment for all the family with Main Ring attractions together with a variety of livestock shows, horse shows, vintage cars & tractors, dog shows, horticultural/floral art tent, craft village, trade stands and much more.
Devon County Show	17th to 19th May 2012	Devon County Showground, Westpoint, Clyst St Mary, Exeter, Devon EX5 1DJ	-	The Devon County Show is far more than just great main ring entertainment. It’s a fabulous celebration of the great British countryside and a terrific day out, too. There’s magnificent livestock, wonderful food and drink, inspiring flower and garden displays, marvellous crafts, a huge country life area, trade stands offering a wealth of goods, and lots of traditional entertainment in six arenas. This year's star attractions include the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Adam Henson from BBC’s Countryfile.
Dorset County Show	1st to 2nd September 2012	Dorchester Showground DT2 7SD	-	The Dorset County Show highlights include a Motorbike Display Team, Falconry, Carriage Driving, Fun Fair, Cookery Demonstrations, Terrier Racing, Sheep Shearing & Gun Dog Displays.
East of England Show	6th to 8th July 2012	East of England Showground, Oundle Road, Peterborough PE2 6XE	-	The East of England Show features horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, food, music, attractions, trade stands and much, much more.
East Halton Show	12th August 2012	The Show Field, East Halton, Near Immingham, North Lincs, DN40 3NU	-	The East Halton Show is an unaffiliated show which includes show jumping, working hunter, show classes plus obstacle driving, my best friend, bonny pony, fancy dress and mounted games. A friendly local show with other attractions which include vinatge tractor parade, pedigree and novelty dog show, fur and feather class, stalls, bouncy castles and plenty of other attractions.
Eccles Hall Show	1st September 2012	Lower Parks, Sugnall, ST21 6NF	-	Now celebrating its 65th year, Eccleshall Show has grown into a substantial country show & donates proceeds to charities. Show sections include Classic Vehicles, Dogs, Equestrian, Ferrets, Horticulture & Craft... plus competitions & entertainment throughout the day.
Emley Show	4th August 2012	Factory Farm, Factory Lane, Emley, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD8 9TE	-	Emley Show is one of the best attended and respected agricultural days out in Yorkshire - and a great day out for all the family. With 1000s of exhibitors across 100s of classes, including livestock, horse, horticultural and craft.
Essex Country Show	8th to 9th September 2012	Barleylands, Billericay, Essex CM11 2UD	-	Once an informal gathering of half a dozen steam engines, the Essex Country Show is now the largest event of its type in the South East. With an emphasis on agricultural history and rural crafts, there is also much more for the family to enjoy including helicopter rides, a specialist food hall, children's amusements, arena events or a huge variety of over 200 craft and trade stands.
Framlingham Country Show	14th to 15th April 2012	Framlingham College, College Road, Framlingham, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP13 9EY	-	The Framlingham Country Show is a fantastic family day out with something for everybody. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Framlingham College with the Castle as its backdrop why not come and watch our falconry displays, the amazing talent of John Wasp with his geese herding, Mutley Crew with their dog agility or bring along your dog for one of the several competitions.
Great Yorkshire Show	10th to 12th July 2012	Great Yorkshire Showground, Wetherby Road Harrogate, North Yorkshire HG2 8NZ	-	The Great Yorkshire Show is England's Premier Agricultural event and features animals, country demonstrations, have-a-go activities and the Great Yorkshire Cheese & Dairy Show. Plus there's fashion, rural crafts and shopping.
Herefordshire Country Fair	5th August 2012	Whitfield Court	-	The Herefordshire Country Fair is packed with fun and thrills for all the family. From fly fishing to clay competitions, gun dog trials and agility tests & show jumping. There is also great shopping too with stalls selling everything for country living and plenty of delicious things to eat and drink.
Herts County Show	2nd to 3rd June 2012	Hertfordshire County Showground, Dunstable Road, Redbourn, Hertfordshire AL3 7PT	-	The Herts County Show is widely acknowledged as the largest and Best Value for Money Community Event in the County
The Highclere Game & Country Fair	26th to 27th May 2012	Highclere Castle, Newbury, Berkshire RG20 9RN	-	The Highclere Game and Country Fair offers visitors a wide range of top class family entertainment over the weekend of the second May Bank Holiday. Set in the glorious grounds of Highclere Castle, the Fair draws visitors from across the Southern Counties, and much further afield. The Highclere Game and Country Fair is home to some of the World's most prestigious field sports competitions, and attracts competitors from across the globe.
Honley Show	9th June 2012	Moor Lane, Farnley Tyas, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD4 6UW	-	The Honley Show is one of the most prestigious, best attended and well respected rural shows in the country. The Show's Farnley Tyas showground remains one of the region's best venues to showcase a stunning range of activities, agricultural events, stands and displays.
The Kelmarsh Game & Country Fair	21st to 22nd April 2012	Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire NN6 9LY	-	The Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair marks the start of the game fair season, and is the East Midland's premier country sports event. Showcasing country life at its best, the Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair attracts a fusion of families and field sports enthusiasts who take part in an outstanding range of countryside attractions and family entertainment..
Lincolnshire County Show	20th to 21st June 2012	Lincolnshire Showground, Grange-de-Lings, Lincoln, LN2 2NA	-	The Lincolnshire Show is a traditional agricultural show offering a fantastic and diverse range of activities and entertainment for the whole family. From high-energy ring displays to mouth-watering delicacies in the Food Court, boutique shopping in The Mews to agricultural machinery displays and competitive show jumping to country sports, an animal petting zoo and floral displays there’s something to appeal to everyone.
The Lowther Game & Country Fair	11th to 12th August 2012	Lowther Estate, Lowther, Penrith, Cumbria CA10 2HG	-	The Lowther Game and Country Fair will bring together world-class sporting championships, top-class demonstrations and hundreds upon hundreds of top-line, quality driven exhibition stands for visitors to truly indulge in and experience.
The Melplash Show	23rd August 2012	West Bay Showground, Bridport, Dorset, DT6 4EG	-	The Melplash Show is a one day agricultural show held in West Bay, Dorset. Lots to see and do for all of the family. Come and meet sheep, cattle, pigs, goats, heavy horses, donkeys and much more as they compete for prizes. Over 350 trade stands and main ring attractions. Plenty of classes for children to enter and get involved with our Handicraft and Horticulture sections - schedules available on our website from May. The Midlands Game & Country Fair	15th to 16th September 2012	Weston Park, Shropshire, TF11 8LE	-	For 29 years, The Midland Game & County Fair has provided one of the UK’s finest showcases of country life. The Mirfield Show	19th August 2012	Mirfield Showground, Huddersfield Road (A644), Mirfield, West Yorkshire, England WF14 9NE	-	The Mirfield Show Highlights include a Creative Writing Competition, Tug of War Competition, Build A Scarecrow Competition, Children's Colouring Competition, welly wanging, rabbit jumping, bushtucker trials, and the horse & pony show.
Moreton-in-Marsh Show	1st September 2012	Batsford Road, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, GL56 0AB	-	The 2012 Moreton-in-Marsh Show celebrates the show's 60th Anniversary.
Newark & Nottinghamshire County Show	12th to 13th May 2012	County Showground, Lincoln Rd, Newark-on-Trent, Winthorpe, Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire NG24 2NY	-	With FREE grandstand seating and 26 rings and display areas there’s plenty to see and do at The Newark & Nottinghamshire Show. This year's highlights include Cyril the Squirrel and ‘Have-A-Go’ Dog Agility, plus Jason Smyth Adrenaline Quad Bike Stunt Show in the main ring. The New Forest & Hampshire County Show	24th to 26th July 2012	The Showground, New Park, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, England SO42 7QH	-	The New Forest & Hampshire County Show represents entertainment at its' very best, a vast array of sights and sounds to suit all tastes and ages. Highlights include Countryside Traditions and Demonstrations, Show Ring Displays, Show Gardens & LOcal Produce.
Royal Norfolk Show	27th to 28th June 2012	Norfolk Showground, Dereham Road, Norwich, NR5 0TT	-	The Royal Norfolk Show is a two day show which celebrates everything that's Norfolk . It is the largest annual event in the County with over 100,000 visitors. A great family day out offering 10 hours of entertainment from spectacular Grand Ring displays, traditional livestock and equine classes, to a live music stage, celebrity guests and over 650 stands for those who love shopping. We have a large Food Hall and Cookery Theatre full of local produce and local celebrity chefs. We have a Flower & Garden Show where you can seek advice from the experts; a countryside area with demonstrations throughout the day as well as the more tradition elements such as the latest farm machinery, livestock and horses. There's something for everyone, you can be sure of a great day out.
Northumberland County Show	4th June 2012	Tynedale Park, Corbridge, NE45 5AY	-	The Northumberland County Show is celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with classes, rosettes and more, specifically designed for the 2012 show! It's an exciting day out for all, located in the heart of beautiful Northumbrian countryside. This year boasts a fantastic experience with the amazing Blazing Saddles Equine Display, the adrenaline pumping Jason Smyth motorbike and quad display, and Showing Classes for Cattle, Sheep, Light Horses, Heavy Horses, Goats, Alpacas, Shearing, KC Dogs, Poultry, Rabbits, Stick dressing, Competitive Home Crafts, Cumberland & Westmorland Wrestling and much, much more.
The North Yorkshire County Show	17th June 2012	Otterington Hall, between Northallerton and Thirsk	-	The North Yorkshire show features include exciting displays and demonstrations, a whole range of of Main Ring Attractions, Bungee Trampolines, Traction Engines, Classic Cars and Motorcycles, Cattle, Sheep and Poultry, Rabbits and Ferrets, Children's Inflatables, Country Pursuits, Driving Classes, Horticulture and Produce, Arts & Crafts.
Oxfordshire County & Thame Show	TBA 2013	Thame Showground, off the A4129 Kingsey Road, Thame.	-	There is no Oxfordshire County & Thame Show in 2012, but it will be back in 2013. Date TBA.
Oxfordshire Young Farmers County Show	3rd June 2012	A415, Ducklington, Witney.	-	A great day out for all the family, The Oxfordshire Young Farmers County Show and Rally is a well established show with an array of wonderful attractions! This year’s show is set to be a bank holiday highlight that will include sheep racing, Country Side Corner, Farm Machinery, Falconry displays, parade of hounds, Sporting 50 clay shoot (open to the public!), ‘Have a Go’ Clay Shooting Stand, Trade Stands, Farmers Market, Bar, Live Music and MUCH MUCH more! To celebrate the Queens Jubilee there will be competitions open to the public including Cup Cake making and photography.
The Ripley Agricultural Show	12th August 2012	Ripley Castle Park, Harrogate, N Yorks HG3 3EA	-	The Ripley Agricultural Show features horse showing & jumping, a sheep show, terrier racing, vintage machinery, horticultural displays, handicrafts and much much more.
The Romsey Show	8th September 2012	The Romsey Agricultural and Horse Show Society, 4 The Old Carthouses, Broadlands, Romsey, Hampshire, SO51 9LQ	-	The Romsey Show is a true agricultural show and great day out with something for all the family. The show is one of the oldest in England, held annually since 1842, and showcases the best of British farming as cattle, goats and sheep from across the region compete for glory in the livestock classes. Hundreds of horses are entered in a huge number of equine events that range from show jumping and heavy horses to side saddle and best donkey.
North Somerset Show	7th May 2012	North Somerset Showground, Bathing Pond Fields, Wraxall, Nr Bristol, Somerset BS48 1NG	-	The 153rd North Somerset Agricultural Show promises to be one action packed Bank Holiday Monday, showcasing the best of the region’s livestock, arts and crafts, food, drink and rural activities.
Suffolk County Show	7th June to 8th June 2012	Trinity Park, Ipswich	-	The Suffolk Show is the County’s biggest annual event and offers a great day out for all the family. Highlights include thrilling ring displays, the livestock and equine champions, the finest food and drink produce, sporting heroes, and stunning homes & gardens.
Surrey County Show	4th June 2012	Stoke Park, Nightingale Road, Guildford	-	The Surrey County Show 2012, celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, features hundreds of top quality animals from giant beef bulls to meer cats. Held annually on the late May Bank Holiday Monday, it brings the best of the countryside right to the heart of the town. The Show is a fantastic day out for the whole family, combining entertainment and fun with the opportunity to see first hand the many aspects of country life and farming.
Surrey County Ploughing Match & Country Fair	23rd September 2012	Loseley Park, Guildford	-	In September, the Surrey County Agricultural Society runs Surrey Farm and Food Week, a programme of free farm walks and events. The climax of the week is the Surrey County Ploughing Match and Country Fair held at Loseley Park outside Guildford. The classes involve vintage to modern tractors and horse drawn ploughs and rural sports and activities range from fly fishing to terrier racing and dog agility.
Sussex Game & Country Fair	16th to 17th June 2012	Parham Park, West Sussex, RH20 4HS	-	The Sussex County Fair is a true family event which includes the traditional field sports activities, the country lifestyle showcase, and a steam & vintage section.
Three Counties Show	15th to 17th June 2012	The Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire WR13 6NW	-	The Three Counties Show - The Region’s Premier Agricultural Show offering excellent entertainment for all the family and showcasing the best of British food, farming and rural life.
Tendring Show	14th July 2012	Lawford House Park, Bromley Road, Lawford, Nr Manningtree, Essex. CO11 2ND	-	The Tendring Hundred Show is a family show that brings together rural and urban communities in the Essex region. While still maintaining its agricultural roots through large displays of farm machinery and a focus on rural pastimes, the Show offers challenging and informative displays, an open air shopping experience with over 200 tradestands, as well as a wide range of exhibitions and much more. The Show is always a fun family day out - full of interest, entertainment, education, and local country colour!
Westmorland County Show	13th September 2012	Westmorland County Agricultural Society, Lane Farm, Crooklands, Milnthorpe, Cumbria. LA7 7NH	-	The Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one day Shows in the UK and also one of the oldest with the Westmorland Society being founded in 1799. Held on the second Thursday in September each year, the Show attracts over 30,000 people and features a major Livestock Show including cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, heavy horses, alpacas, dogs and poultry. There are also marquees for The Women's Institute, Learning or Life, Crafts from Cumbria, local produce Food Hall, Rural Crafts and over 350 trade stands.
North Wales Country Fair	18th to 19th August 2012	Rhiwlas Estate, Bala, North Wales, LL23 7NP	-	The North Wales Country Fair is a 2 day event including main ring shows, terrier and lurcher shows, & axe men competitions. The weekend will provide a broad mix of countryside activities including clay pigeon shooting, gundog events as well as food halls and craft areas. Plenty to entertain all the family.
Pembrokeshire County Show	14th to 16th August 2012	Withybush Road, Haverfordwest, Dyfed, Wales SA62 4BW	-	The Pembrokeshire County Show is the largest agricultural show in Wales. Whether your interest is in Cars, Food, Clothes or Animals - there is something for everyone.
Royal Welsh Show	23rd to 26th July 2012	Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, Powys, LD2 3SY	-	The Royal Welsh Show attractions include livestock shows, vintage machinery, regimental bands, a motorcycle display team, and much more.
Ayr Country Show	11th to 12th May 2012	Ayr Racecourse, Whitletts Road, Ayr, South Ayrshire, Scotland KA8 0JE	-	The Ayr County Show is a fun-filled day out with animals, entertainment, education, trade stands, food & crafts, vintage tractors, tug o'war, and so much more!... Adult:£12, Concessions:£8, Children (aged 14 and under): Free.
Royal Highland Show	21st to 24th June 2012	Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh, Scotland EH28 8NB	-	The Royal Highland Show is one of Scotland’s most iconic, enduring and historic brands – an annual showcase of all that’s best in farming, food and countryside.
The Balmoral Show	16th to 18th May 2012	The King’s Hall Complex, Balmoral, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT9 6GW	-	The Balmoral Show is Ireland’s largest Agricultural and Food Show. The 144th Show offers an extravaganza of colour, competition and showmanship to entertain the whole family, including daily displays of pedigree horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, poultry, pigs and goats.
Fermanagh County Show	7th to 8th August 2012	The Agricultural Centre, Tempo Road, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, BT74 4RL	-	The Fermanagh County Show hosts a wide range of Livestock, Home Industry, Pet and Schools Classes.
